Position Overview

Role Summary

We are in search of an AV Systems Specialist who will play a vital role within a U.S.-based global systems integrator, delivering advanced technology solutions and services to both commercial and governmental clients. This role is situated in the Washington DC Metro area.

As part of our technical team, the selected AV Systems Specialist will collaborate closely with our foreman and lead technicians, assuming comprehensive responsibility for technical support.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Interpreting cabling pull schedules, floor plans, and ceiling plans
  • Capable of lifting up to 75lbs
  • Exhibiting strong troubleshooting abilities
  • Demonstrating general computer proficiency
  • Executing cable installation and termination
  • Installing various devices
  • Performing additional duties as assigned

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of experience in audiovisual installation
  • Familiarity with Crestron/AMX control systems and Polycom VTC platforms
  • Exceptional customer service capabilities
  • Willingness to travel as required
  • Reliable transportation for daily assignments
  • Preferred experience as an on-site support technician or field technician
  • Experience in audiovisual system setup and troubleshooting is preferred
  • Manufacturer training such as Extron, Crestron, Biamp, Polycom, or Cisco is a plus

Specialized Skills (if applicable):

  • Knowledge of control/automation systems: Crestron, AMX, and Extron
  • Experience with audio DSPs: QSC, Biamp, Clearone, or Symetrix
  • Client-facing role, providing direct support during installations
  • Compiling and submitting regular reports on A/V operations
  • Understanding and interpreting Audio Visual Line Drawings
  • Independently installing basic systems
  • Mounting displays, projectors, and other AV equipment
  • Performing cable dressing and rack lacing
  • Scaling ladders to perform necessary tasks

Termination Capabilities Include:

  • RJ45, cat5, cat6 terminations including keystones
  • Speaker endpoints
  • Phoenix connectors
  • Soldering various connections including microphone XLRs, TRS connectors, DB9, and 3.5mm connectors

Education / Certifications:

  • High School Diploma with relevant experience
  • Relevant technical certification is advantageous

Work Authorization:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
