SUSTAINABILITY ENGINEER | KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead projects from inception to completion, encompassing initial scope definition, budget management, scheduling, onsite operations, and communication with stakeholders and regulatory bodies.

  • Oversee sites within a risk-informed decision-making framework essential to the regulatory landscape.
  • Manage investigations, remediation, and closure projects for both underground and aboveground storage tanks.
  • Direct brownfield voluntary cleanup initiatives.
  • Engage with clients, colleagues, regulators, and insurance representatives in both field and office settings.
  • Conduct and supervise sampling and data collection for various environmental media including air, water, groundwater, wastewater, stormwater, hazardous waste, solid waste, radon, and soil for laboratory analysis.
  • Document field activities through comprehensive paperwork.
  • Plan, lead, and manage investigation/remediation efforts, which may include the installation of monitoring wells, drilling operations, soil sampling, and the proper packaging and shipping of samples.
  • Handle waste management for remediation and sampling, ensuring the correct packaging and labeling of materials that may contain hazardous substances.
  • Research and compile reports, including status updates, groundwater sampling results, site characterization, potential recovery assessments, and risk evaluations.
  • Request information from various governmental and regulatory entities as necessary.
SUSTAINABILITY ENGINEER | REQUIRED SKILLS:

SUSTAINABILITY ENGINEER | EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Must hold a Professional Engineer License in Missouri and/or Illinois.
  • Professional Geologist license is preferred.
  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or a related engineering discipline is required.
  • A Master's degree in Civil or Environmental engineering is preferred.
  • At least 8 years of professional experience in site investigation, evaluation of alternatives, remediation engineering, and optimization of remedies is necessary.
  • Experience navigating regulations such as CERCLA, RCRA, and USTs is required; familiarity with TSCA, FIFRA, EPCRA, CWA, CAA, and/or SDWA is advantageous.
SALARY RANGE

• $85,000 - $100,000 | Annually
