Job Title: Food Administrator I

Job Summary:

The Food Administrator I is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing all food service and dietary activities in a correctional facility health care program. This includes working with clinical personnel on nutrition assessments, developing and implementing dietary menus, and ensuring compliance with state food control systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and direct food service operations, including menu planning, food preparation, and service.
  • Work with clinical personnel to develop and implement dietary menus that meet the nutritional needs of inmates.
  • Ensure compliance with state food control systems, including sanitation, safety, and housekeeping standards.
  • Supervise and train food service staff, including inmates, to ensure efficient and effective food service operations.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, including food inventory, menu planning, and staff training.

Requirements:

  • One year of experience in a hospital or correctional facility as a dietitian, nutritionist, or food service manager.
  • Equivalent to graduation from college with a Bachelor's Degree in Foods, Nutrition, or Institution Management.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make decisions quickly.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.

Working Conditions:

Travel is required. The Food Administrator I must be able to work in a correctional facility environment, which may include exposure to inmates and potentially hazardous conditions.
