Job Title: Paralegal

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our team at Kimbrough Legal, PLLC. As a Paralegal, you will play a crucial role in supporting our legal team by drafting legal documents, conducting research, and maintaining organized case files.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist lawyers in preparing legal documentation, pleadings, and correspondence, including subpoenas, deposition notices, complaints, and legal briefs.
  • Support trial preparation by organizing exhibits, coordinating witnesses, and conducting legal research.
  • Manage law office activities, including drafting subpoenas and coordinating with process servers.
  • Perform administrative duties, such as answering phone calls and maintaining an organized case filing system.
  • Conduct client interviews to gather information about legal matters.
  • Aid lawyers in trial preparation by preparing and organizing exhibits, organizing and coordinating witnesses, conducting research on legal articles, and assisting with client meetings and filing motions.
  • Gather information about legal issues from the client in interviews.
  • Draft legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence, such as interrogatories, subpoenas, deposition notices, complaints, pretrial orders, legal briefs, and affidavits under the guidance of a lawyer.
  • Draft subpoenas and coordinate with process servers.
Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience as a Family Law Paralegal in the state of Texas (non-negotiable).
  • Ideally, candidates should hold a Paralegal professional certification or have advanced paralegal education (preferred).
  • Applicants must be able to provide proof of possessing a valid Texas Driver's License and maintaining automobile insurance.
  • Clear, concise, and effective communication skills, coupled with a positive attitude, are essential qualities for this role.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and email is a must, with familiarity in legal software is a must.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills are crucial for success in this position.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, as well as proficiency in writing and grammar, are fundamental requirements for this role.
  • Candidates who have completed a paralegal professional certification or have advanced paralegal education will receive preference.
  • Candidates must have completed an ABA-approved paralegal certificate program, such as an Associate's degree or proprietary school program in paralegal studies, Bachelor's degree preferred.
