Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Claims professional to join our team at Auto-Owners Insurance. As a Physical Damage Appraiser, you will be responsible for inspecting damaged automobiles, developing information regarding repair costs, and negotiating repair cost agreements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect damaged vehicles to determine repair costs and negotiate agreements with repair facilities.
  • Maintain knowledge of current automobile construction and repair techniques to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Communicate with claim associates, agents, and insureds to resolve claims and provide updates on repairs.
  • Work towards the resolution of claims, including attending arbitrations, mediations, and trials as necessary.
  • Investigate claims by phone, mail, and on-site inspections.
  • Will be required to travel and participate in catastrophe duty as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Physical Damage Appraiser.
  • Knowledge of CCC software is preferred but not required.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments and prioritize tasks.
  • Possess a valid driver's license.
