Experienced Property Manager Wanted for Multifamily Residential Property

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Property Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our 40-unit residential property in New York. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HUD and Low-Income Housing Tax Credit experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect rent and maintain accurate computer records, following up on delinquent accounts and pursuing collections in accordance with established procedures.
  • Monitor expenses to ensure spending is within guidelines.
  • Maintain tenant files and related documentation regarding continuing eligibility and adjustments.
  • Show vacant apartments using professional marketing procedures.
  • Address resident concerns in a professional manner.
  • Hire, train, and supervise site staff, overseeing overall maintenance of the property.
  • Conduct property inspections.
  • Complete income verification to ensure eligibility with government regulations.
  • Handle the financial operations of the properties.
  • Knowledge of Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) rules and regulations.
  • Knowledge of laws and standards that apply to property management, such as Fair Housing Laws, Landlord-Tenant Laws, OSHA Standards, local and state building codes.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of project-based section 8, LIHTC, and other affordable housing programs.
  • High school education or equivalent.
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Three+ years of multi-family residential management experience, with a minimum of two years of affordable housing experience.
  • Ability to work independently, organize tasks, manage time, and prioritize projects.
  • Experience in Section 8 voucher submission, tax-credit.
  • Experience with RealPage OneSite or similar property management software.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
  • LIHTC Certification, preferred.
