Job Title: Community School Resource Manager

Oswego County Opportunities, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Community School Resource Manager to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for managing the overall operations of our Community Schools program, including direct services to youth and families, community resource coordination, and school collaboration.

Job Summary:

The Community School Resource Manager will oversee the day-to-day activities of the program, ensuring that services are delivered in a timely and effective manner. This includes managing multiple program components, planning and performing a wide variety of duties requiring in-depth knowledge of youth and family development and community resources.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage program resources to address the needs of youth and families, ensuring systems are in place for crisis intervention, discipline, supportive counseling, advocacy, service referral, and follow-up.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with community members, engaging in public relation activities for programs.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with parents, teachers, community members, and organizations to bring services and resources on site to meet the needs of youth and families.
  • Work independently and utilize excellent judgment to make decisions based on precedent, including in unusual circumstances when no policy or procedure exists.
  • Responsible for program hiring, discipline, performance management, and terminations, and approves actions of subordinates.
  • Provide orientation and on-going training to employees and volunteers on topics such as youth development, family dynamics, understanding poverty, and community resources.
  • Assure the development and maintenance of program policies and procedures and ensure the maintenance of all program records.
  • Monitor program activities, ensure data is entered into the required systems, and provide reports as required.
  • Provide input into program budgets and fiscal planning and ensure that program activities fall within projected budgets.
  • Participate in grant writing to continue or expand programming as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited or NYS Registered college in a Human Services Field.
  • 3-5 years related experience with at least 2 years supervisory and management experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, experience writing policies and procedures, and managing expenditures.
  • Valid NYS Driver's License, good driving record, and access to a reliable vehicle for travel and to transport consumers.
  • Acceptable physical and mental health to carry out responsibilities of the position.
