Purchasing Specialist IV for Water Quality Planning

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) is seeking a highly skilled Purchasing Specialist IV to join its Water Quality Planning Division. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic team that protects Texas' public health and natural resources.

Job Summary:

  • Provide complex purchasing support for the Water Quality Planning Division, including procurement of supplies and capital equipment.
  • Process purchase requests, obtain quotes, and prepare related documentation.
  • Coordinate with TCEQ representatives regarding purchase requirements and review specifications to ensure merchandise meets requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enter procurements data into CAPPS and maintain accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Track purchase orders and requisitions, and organize and maintain purchasing files and records.
  • Process receipts of purchases and assist with inventory management.

Requirements:

  • Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent plus four years of full-time experience in procurement.
  • Alternatively, five years of full-time experience in an administrative capacity involving purchasing experience and responsibilities.

Estimated Salary: $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

This position is available as a lateral transfer opportunity to TCEQ employees within the Contract Specialist IV state classification. The selected candidate must meet the minimum qualifications of the corresponding job in the Contract Specialist IV series.
