Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Construction Materials Testing Technician to join our team at Tolunay-Wong Engineers. As a key member of our team, you will assist in the performance of routine construction monitoring, field and/or laboratory tests. Your responsibilities will include preparing and transporting samples and reports, performing non-technical functions, and office tasks under close supervision of higher-level technicians or supervisors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with sampling or testing of soils, concrete, asphalt, and other materials as directed.
  • Support field and/or laboratory personnel as needed to complete tasks.
  • Transport equipment, specimens, or documents to field personnel, laboratory, clients, or other offices, and provide physical assistance in equipment set-up.
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean work area.
  • Assist other technicians or professional staff on routine tasks.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of construction materials testing procedures and protocols.
  • Support our quality policies and procedures; maintain the quality of your work and the quality of TWE in the highest regard with each task you perform.
  • Adhere to the TWE safety policies and procedures and encourage the improvement of these policies by your participation in near miss and safety audit programs.
Requirements
  • No experience necessary.
  • Ability to lift 10 to 60 lbs. and work outside for extended periods of time.
  • Capacity to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to obtain ACI, TXDOT, NICET, or other relevant certifications. Certifications paid by the company.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to pass a drug test, background check, and fit for duty test.
  • Must be willing to work weekends or nights as required by our clients' schedule.
