Position Overview

This role involves a contract-to-hire opportunity focused on providing essential IT support within the oil and gas sector. The successful candidate will be stationed in a key location and will be responsible for addressing all IT-related inquiries and challenges.

Key Responsibilities

The individual will serve as the primary contact for all technology-related matters at the designated site. This includes:

  • Taking ownership of IT issues and ensuring they are resolved efficiently.
  • Coordinating necessary escalations and working to identify root causes of technical problems.
  • Managing travel to various field sites, which may require overnight stays, to provide support as needed.

Travel Expectations

  • Willingness to travel frequently, potentially up to 80% of the time.
  • Possession of an excellent driving record, with no significant violations in the past three years.
  • Travel radius may extend approximately 200 miles, with occasional longer trips.

Essential Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience with PC support, LAN/WAN, VPN, and wireless technologies.
  • Familiarity with Server 2019, Cisco networking equipment, and the ability to manage mobile devices.
  • Experience with printer setup and IT service management software.
  • Physical capability to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Compliance with travel requirements is mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or a related discipline.
  • Experience within the oil and gas industry.
  • Relevant certifications such as A+, Net+, MCP, MCDST, or HDI.
