Join the LARGEST and BEST team in HVAC: Service Experts Heating, Air Conditioning, & Plumbing

Position Overview:

This role involves overseeing technicians and assistants engaged in the installation, maintenance, and servicing of residential and/or light commercial HVAC systems and accessories. You will manage daily operations, ensuring adequate staffing to fulfill customer demands, assist technicians with complex tasks, provide training and coaching, enforce safety regulations, and conduct quality assessments on completed projects. Depending on staffing and customer requirements, you may also perform service, maintenance, and installation tasks. This position operates under the guidance of the General Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and manage upcoming work to effectively schedule and assign technicians and teams, optimizing productivity and meeting customer expectations.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to discuss performance, address concerns, provide training on lead generation, customer service, and company offerings, and reinforce safety protocols and objectives.
  • Support technicians with significant or challenging assignments, ensuring quality control of completed work in line with company standards.
  • Train staff on technical competencies, company protocols, and safety regulations.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and maintain high levels of client satisfaction.
  • Ensure proper use, maintenance, and accountability of company property, vehicles, and tools.
  • Represent the company with professionalism, integrity, and ethical standards in all business interactions.
  • Ensure company vehicles are adequately stocked, manage defective warranty parts, and complete necessary administrative tasks.
  • Exhibit leadership to field staff in customer focus, adherence to company policies, safety practices, and implementation of company initiatives.
  • Act as a resource for sales staff on technical matters related to products and services.
  • Assist the General Manager with administrative duties and other assigned tasks.
  • Perform service, maintenance, and installation work as required to meet customer needs.
  • Carry out similar or additional duties as assigned.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED with additional training and over 5 years of experience in HVAC, including technical training certification.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
  • Proven ability to train others in technical skills and effective customer service.
  • Possession of all necessary licenses or certifications as mandated by federal, state, or local regulations.
  • EPA and safety certifications are required.
  • Advanced skills in servicing heating, air conditioning, and ventilation systems and related components.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency in operating essential tools and equipment.
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams and blueprints, troubleshoot electrical, refrigerant, and duct system issues on HVAC equipment.
  • Competence in starting up and balancing airflow, aligning belts and pulleys without supervision.
  • Capability to install basic duct fittings.
  • Advanced troubleshooting and repair skills for electronic air cleaners, refrigeration systems, hot water systems, steam boilers, humidifiers, and related equipment without supervision.
  • Ability to calculate heat gain and loss in buildings using approved methodologies.
  • Effective communication skills for resolving customer issues and concerns.
  • Strong time-management and organizational skills.
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and on-call shifts as necessary.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and maneuver in attics, basements, and crawl spaces to access HVAC units.
  • Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including hot, cold, outdoor, indoor, dry, humid, and slippery surfaces.
  • Capacity to safely climb ladders rated for 300lb load capacity while carrying a 30lb tool belt.
  • Vision capabilities to see and focus for close, distance, and peripheral vision with normal depth perception.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
