About the Role

DTE Energy is a leading diversified energy company with a rich history of innovation and commitment to sustainability. As a Portfolio Manager I-Trust Investments, you will play a critical role in managing over $11B in assets, including US/Global equities, fixed income, multi-asset/hedge funds, and private markets. Your expertise will be instrumental in driving the strategic direction of the Trust Investments organization and the trust funds managed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement investment strategies for assigned asset classes, ensuring compliance with all policies and regulations.
  • Lead the evaluation of investment managers' risk and returns against policy objectives and benchmarks, making recommendations for termination when necessary.
  • Negotiate investment management agreements, contracts, and other documentation with external counsel.
  • Perform periodic asset class reviews with external consultants and present results to the Investment Committee.
  • Lead Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for external service providers as needed.
  • Oversee the 401(k) investment menu, co-manage the recordkeeper, and support participant communications.
  • Benchmark investment performance relative to other asset owners, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Proactively identify and research new strategic initiatives and investment opportunities.
  • Maintain a network of asset owner peers and investment managers to share best practices and surface investment ideas.
  • Prepare and present compelling recommendations to Senior Management and the Investment Committee.
Requirements

A Bachelor's degree in a business-related or analytical/technical discipline, with at least 5 years of experience in business/financial or quantitative analysis, including at least 3 years of related investment experience. Alternatively, an MBA with at least 3 years of experience in business/financial or quantitative analysis, including at least 3 years of related investment experience. CFA/CAIA certification can count towards 2 years of investment experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • MBA or other related advanced degree.
  • CFA or CAIA designations, or progress towards designations.
  • Experience managing investments as part of an asset manager or asset owner organization.
  • Experience working with PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
