Job Overview:

Are you dedicated to supporting the well-being of others? The Compensation and Recruitment Analyst role within the Arizona Department of Veteran's Services could be an ideal fit for you.

This position acts as a liaison for payroll processes and provides training to all personnel regarding timekeeping practices. Responsibilities include processing manual time entries for departments requiring payroll adjustments or for employee terminations, as well as generating payroll reports for bi-weekly audits. Additionally, this role is tasked with ensuring sufficient nursing staff coverage to fulfill the requirements of the Arizona State Veteran Home- Flagstaff. Duties involve monitoring staffing levels, updating the scheduling software, and maintaining the time-management system to guarantee the precision of payroll documentation. The analyst will collaborate with external staffing agencies as needed and develop various strategies to tackle ongoing staffing issues.

The Compensation and Recruitment Analyst will learn, apply, and oversee Arizona Management System (AMS) methodologies, utilizing AMS tools for problem-solving and continuous improvement while focusing on Veteran/Member-centered care in all job functions.

Job Responsibilities:

As a Compensation and Recruitment Analyst, your responsibilities will include:

Updating and managing the timekeeping system for employees. Inputting all requests and adjustments for time clock entries across all facility departments to ensure accuracy. Generating daily departmental reports. Auditing each pay cycle to align with the scheduling system and ensure compliance with CMS guidelines for Payroll Based Journal (PBJ) reporting. Finalizing each payroll cycle and preparing reports for bi-weekly audits, adhering to record-keeping standards. Ensuring all necessary corrections and manual entries are processed for each department. Managing missed punch requests to align the timekeeping system with the HRIS scheduling system. Assisting Human Resources with onboarding processes for new hires, including setting up video conferences and collecting required documentation. Serving as a backup for E-verify processes and maintaining orientation materials for the facility. Overseeing orientation for registry staff within the facility. Ensuring that all necessary documentation is collected from registry staff and maintaining their orientation materials. Adjusting the staffing schedule as directed by the Director of Nursing or Administrator. Continuously updating the scheduling software with sick leave, vacation requests, and other relevant data. Verifying and entering sick leave, vacation, and other hours into the time-management system to ensure payroll accuracy. Verifying, processing, printing, and preparing payroll documentation electronically.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge of:

Relevant laws, regulations, policies, and procedures governing the agency. Automated payroll systems. Departmental policies and procedures related to payroll, human resources, and staffing. Problem-solving techniques. Appropriate measures for safeguarding confidential information. Computer software and applications.

Maintain confidentiality regarding financial and employee information. Organize and maintain files. Selective Preferences: Experience in a healthcare setting. Knowledge of automated payroll systems, PBJ, and their significance in human resources. Experience in staffing and scheduling is preferred.
Pre-Employment Requirements: Ability to obtain and retain a valid AZ DPS Fingerprint Clearance Card. Valid state-issued driver’s license for conducting State business. Compliance with vaccination requirements as outlined in CMS Interim Final Rule - Medicare and Medicaid Programs. Current negative TB skin test or documentation from a qualified healthcare provider indicating freedom from tuberculosis if previously tested positive.

If driving or vehicle use is essential for conducting State business, the following requirements apply:
