Position Overview

Summary:

The role involves executing construction projects with efficiency while ensuring adherence to all relevant safety regulations and building codes. The individual will interpret and implement comprehensive construction plans to optimize workflow for the project team.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Execute construction tasks promptly, safely, and cost-effectively, ensuring compliance with all safety and building regulations.
2. Interpret and implement detailed construction plans to streamline workflow for the project team.
3. Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure timely access and minimal disruption to hospital operations.
4. Prioritize the safety and care of patients and staff throughout all project phases.
5. Manage material logistics to ensure sufficient inventory for efficient project execution.
6. Conduct on-site assessments to address construction needs, minimizing workflow disruption and maintaining cost efficiency.
7. Perform a variety of construction tasks including carpentry, cabinetry, flooring, and painting.
8. Ensure that affected departments can operate without interruption during construction activities.
9. Adhere to UL standards for fire and smoke wall projects to safeguard the well-being of patients, staff, and visitors.
10. Collaborate with housekeeping during the final stages of projects.
11. Fulfill all compliance obligations associated with the position.
12. Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent

Experience:

Required: Minimum of five years in a related field.
Desired: Extensive knowledge of building construction and systems in a commercial environment, strong interpersonal skills, and some supervisory experience preferred.

Working Conditions:

Manual: Significant manual dexterity and coordination required.
Occupational: High occupational risk involved.
Physical Effort: Very heavy physical effort; may require lifting up to 50 lbs.
Physical Environment: Exposure to dirt, odors, noise, and other challenging conditions.
