We are in search of a skilled and creative Senior Mechanical Engineer to become a vital part of our engineering team. In this capacity, you will take charge of the design, development, and enhancement of intricate mechanical systems and components. Your extensive technical knowledge will be instrumental in steering engineering initiatives from initial concept to final execution, ensuring compliance with performance, safety, and reliability benchmarks.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Engage in the design, production, and modification of mechanical and/or electro-mechanical components, subsystems, and systems. This may encompass Mechanical Analysis, Aerodynamics/Fluids, Thermal, Fluid Systems, Mechanical Packaging, among others. Assess and propose design strategies to fulfill production needs for new or enhanced products or services. Explore solutions to product or process challenges.
  2. Oversee a team of engineers on technical projects, ensuring timely and budget-conscious completion.
  3. Design, develop, analyze, document, and support the testing of products, systems, or subsystems.
  4. Utilize computer-aided engineering or other design/analysis software as necessary for assignments. Review customer specifications and requirements, and under guidance, create designs that best accommodate them, with cost as a critical design factor.
  5. Provide input on budget, cost, and scheduling for design tasks.
  6. Specify and assess supplier components, subsystems, and services.
  7. Drive program design to align with cost and manufacturability requirements.
  8. Develop prototypes to mitigate key development risks.
  9. Communicate effectively (both written and verbal) with other personnel and customers as needed.
  10. Contribute to proposal preparation.
  11. Offer technical expertise and support to fellow engineers and support staff.
  12. Guide and direct the work of others as assigned.
  13. Promote, communicate, and uphold the mission, values, and culture of the organization.
  14. Participate in relevant engineering, customer, or business meetings.
  15. Mentor less-experienced engineers.
Qualifications
  1. Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
  2. Proficiency in technologies and application domains.
  3. Capability to independently lead a technical team.

U.S. Citizenship is required. This position necessitates an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable timeframe after starting employment.
