Position Overview

Summary:

The role involves executing construction projects with efficiency while ensuring adherence to safety regulations and compliance with relevant building codes. The individual will interpret and implement detailed construction plans to streamline workflows for the project team.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Execute construction tasks promptly, maintaining safety and cost-effectiveness while ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations.
2. Interpret and implement comprehensive construction plans to facilitate and prioritize the workflow of the project team.
3. Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure that all necessary trades have adequate access and scheduling, minimizing disruption to hospital operations.
4. Prioritize the safety and care of patients and staff throughout the construction process.
5. Manage material logistics to ensure sufficient inventory for optimal project manpower utilization.
6. Conduct on-site assessments to address construction phases, minimizing disruptions and ensuring cost efficiency.
7. Perform various construction tasks including carpentry, cabinetry, flooring, and painting, among others.
8. Ensure that affected departments can operate without hindrance during construction activities, communicating any potential issues promptly.
9. Adhere to UL standards for fire and smoke wall projects to ensure the safety of all individuals in the facility.
10. Collaborate with housekeeping for the final stages of construction projects.
11. Fulfill all compliance obligations associated with the position.
12. Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.

Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent

Additional Information:

Required:
Minimum Experience: Five years
Preferred: Extensive knowledge of building construction and systems in a commercial environment, along with strong interpersonal skills. Supervisory experience is a plus.

Working Conditions:

Manual: Significant manual dexterity and coordination required.
Occupational: Notable occupational hazards present.
Physical Effort: Very heavy physical effort, with the ability to exert up to 50 lbs. of force.
Physical Environment: Significant exposure to various environmental factors including dirt, odors, and noise.
