The Associate Process Engineer, Biomaterials plays a vital role in the post-processing of 3D printed scaffolds, ensuring their successful transition to the Tissue Engineering Team.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the post-processing of 3D printed scaffolds, which includes surface modification and thorough washing to prepare scaffolds for cell attachment.
- Support the design, fabrication, testing, and documentation of bioreactor systems and associated disposables for tissue engineering applications.
- Follow established protocols to evaluate new chemical formulations for 3D printing, specifically for lung scaffolds, and assess the mechanical and physical properties of these scaffolds.
- Collaborate closely with the cell team to facilitate cell attachment studies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the team and company objectives.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in biomedical, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, bioengineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in an engineering research and development environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a hands-on laboratory setting with meticulous attention to detail and adherence to good laboratory practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working within a quality system and medical product design.
- Demonstrated versatility in other engineering disciplines such as mechanical or chemical engineering, materials science, or chemistry.
