DEKA Research & Development is seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for developing and improving complex mechanical assemblies that are transitioning from design into manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities:- Collaborate with the engineering team to develop robust, production-ready designs that meet performance criteria.
- Develop and maintain bill of materials, line layout, production control methods, clear assembly instructions, fixtures, and PFMEA's to ensure efficient manufacturing processes.
- Plan, conduct, and execute pre-production builds, with a focus on volume production and quality control.
- Consult with suppliers to determine product specifications and work with the supply chain team to purchase equipment, materials, and parts.
- Interface with manufacturing partners for all stages of design transfer to ensure products meet performance criteria and deliver a quality product on-time.
- Troubleshoot pre-production medical devices and support ongoing test efforts to ensure product reliability and safety.
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering.
- 2+ years' experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the medical device industry.
- Must have Solidworks experience and a CSWA or other certification is a plus.
- Experience in Design for Manufacturability and/or Design Transfer.
- Previous hands-on experience building, troubleshooting, and repairing complex electro-mechanical systems/devices.
- Knowledge of component forming processes, assembly processes, and production line optimization.
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing Principles is preferred.
- Excellent communication and time management skills.
