Job Overview

Incentive Bonus: $1000 upon successful completion of 120 days with satisfactory attendance

The perfect candidate will be responsible for preparing surfaces of metallic or hard material objects by eliminating unwanted coatings such as scale, sand, paint, grease, tar, rust, and dirt, while achieving a specified finish through the following responsibilities.

  • Dispenses or pours abrasives like sand, grit, or shot of designated grade into the machine hopper
  • Applies protective masking to specific areas of the object to safeguard against the abrading process
  • Positions parts on racks within enclosed spaces, into tumbling barrels, or inside cabinets
  • Adjusts valves on machinery to control the pressure and composition of the abrasive mixture being directed through the nozzle or into tumbling barrels
  • Activates equipment that directs a blast or flow of abrasive-laden compressed air, gas, or liquid over the surfaces of the components
  • Guides the nozzle over the surfaces of larger components or inserts arms through glove-fitted cabinet openings to manipulate smaller components under the nozzle for a designated duration
  • Inspects finished components to verify compliance with specifications
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed
