About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled CPU Silicon Validation Engineer to join our team at Apple. As a key member of our CPU validation team, you will be responsible for ensuring the functional validation of our CPUs, identifying logic design and circuit bugs, and developing CPU test content using our test generators.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with CPU RTL and DV teams to understand changes to our CPU designs and engineer test content for new CPU features.
  • Create CPU validation test plans, ensuring all key features are covered.
  • Develop SW workloads to stress test the CPU and integrate these into our existing validation environments.
  • Help maintain and improve our random test generator by adding support for new CPU architectural and microarchitectural features.
  • Drive the bring-up and execution of our silicon validation tools in pre-silicon (FPGAs) and post-silicon (development boards).
  • Debug functional silicon failures closely with Design and DV counterparts.
Requirements
  • Minimum BS and 10+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of processor instruction set architecture and microarchitecture.
  • Strong in C/C++ programming and scripting (Perl/Python etc).
  • Experience with assembly programming.
  • Direct experience with the ARM ISA a plus.
  • Good knowledge of the design and verification process.
  • Background in silicon bring-up and debug experience a plus.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
