Job Summary

Under general supervision, the Patient Access Representative III is responsible for securing and providing appropriate medical business information to/from patient families and funding sources.

This role involves interpreting, identifying, communicating, and documenting information through:

  • Registration, scheduling, and/or acquiring authorizations for patient services in a team environment.
  • Providing expert knowledge and support for internal and external customer inquiries.

The incumbent must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to remain calm under stressful situations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Listen attentively to patients and medical professionals, devoting full attention to their needs.
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, to ensure accurate and timely information exchange.
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Utilize basic medical terminology and procedures to provide informed support.
  • Remain adaptable and resourceful in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma, GED, or Foreign equivalent.
  • Associate's Degree plus 1 year of experience or High School Diploma plus 2 years of experience.
  • Possess a basic understanding of medical terminology and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Specialty Program.
  • 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Experience with EPIC or other EMR systems.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish and/or other languages that meet business needs of the department.
Compensation

Rady Children's Hospital offers competitive compensation and benefits packages to attract and retain top talent.

The expected hiring range for this position is $23.10 to $31.77.

Compensation decisions consider a variety of factors, including experience, education, licensure, unique skillsets, organizational need, and internal equity.
