We are seeking committed Educational Support Specialists to join our team and assist our students.

Position Overview

The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting teachers within the classroom, aiding students with special needs, and providing additional instructional support as required.


Key Responsibilities

The ideal candidate should possess a genuine enthusiasm for education and working with children, along with excellent communication and organizational abilities.

  • Collaborate with teachers to deliver curriculum support to students who are struggling academically.
  • Assist students with special needs in areas such as mobility, self-care, communication, and social interactions to enhance their engagement in classroom activities.

Performance Duties
  • Work closely with one or more students in a standard classroom environment under the guidance of a licensed educator.
  • Implement lessons or learning activities as directed by the teacher.
  • Manage student behavior using approved techniques.
  • Facilitate group activities for students.
  • Contribute to maintaining a positive classroom atmosphere.
  • Ensure punctuality to adhere to schedules.
  • Assist in managing disruptive behavior to support a conducive learning environment.
  • Monitor students for health issues when assigned.
  • Support teachers with organizational tasks within the classroom.
  • Maintain accurate records related to student progress.
  • Assist in preparing and distributing classroom assignments.
  • Provide feedback on student assignments.

Additional Responsibilities
  • Support students with school materials and their environment.
  • Assist in various settings, including outdoor activities, gymnasium, library, and during field trips.
  • Help students with dressing and transitioning for outdoor activities.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must possess an AA degree or pass a paraprofessional assessment test.
  • First aid and CPR certifications are preferred.
  • Previous experience in an educational setting or working with children is advantageous.
  • Valid driver's license is required.
  • Must complete the necessary application process and pass a background check and drug screening.

Job Type: Full-time

Compensation: $16.00 per hour
