The Controller will be responsible for preparing and maintaining comprehensive financial records that reflect the organization’s assets, liabilities, income, expenses, tax obligations, and other related financial activities.
Key Responsibilities:- Conducts general cost accounting and related tasks for the organization.
- Prepares monthly financial statements, including balance sheets and profit and loss statements.
- Maintains the integrity of the general ledger.
- Codes invoices, establishes new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes monthly financial records.
- Reconciles bank accounts regularly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from financial institutions.
- Manages reconciliation of cash disbursement accounts, payroll, customer accounts, and other financial accounts; oversees accounts receivable collections.
- Ensures timely payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and confirms charges to the correct accounts.
- Assists external auditors by providing necessary account information and documentation for annual audits.
- Files tax documentation with federal, state, and local government agencies.
- Oversees the purchasing and invoicing processes.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of accepted accounting practices and procedures.
- Performs additional related duties as required.
- Strong understanding of general financial accounting and cost accounting principles.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar applications, as well as accounting software.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related discipline is required.
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience is necessary.
Compensation: $75K-$100K base salary, depending on experience.
