Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Cashier (Part-Time) at the Navy Exchange. As a Cashier, you will be the face of our company, responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a positive shopping experience for our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Proactively engage with customers, ask questions, and listen to their needs to provide personalized assistance.
  • Merchandise Management: Maintain the check-out area appearance, move and restock merchandise, and ensure accurate inventory management.
  • Sales and Promotions: Interact with customers to ensure they find everything they need, make suggestions on latest trends and promotions, and process sales transactions accurately.
  • Inventory and Stock Management: Be responsible for inventory processes, ensuring merchandise is properly checked in and accurately ticketed.
  • Dependability and Communication: Adhere to assigned work schedules, follow through on work assignments, and effectively communicate with customers, peers, and management.
Requirements
  • Product Knowledge: Familiarity with retail products and services.
  • Point-of-Sale Systems: Experience with Point-of-Sale systems and cash handling procedures.
  • Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to read, write, and interpret instructional documents.
  • Mathematical Skills: Basic math functions, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, with the ability to make change in American monetary units.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to multi-task, work as part of a team, and take initiative independent of direct supervision.
