Job Summary:
The Kennewick School District is seeking a dedicated Bilingual Paraeducator to support students in enhancing their reading, writing, and math competencies. This role involves direct interaction with students in a classroom environment, facilitating their learning under the guidance of certified educators.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Assist in delivering instructional programs as directed by certified staff, utilizing age-appropriate activities.
  2. Engage in assessment activities to monitor student progress.
  3. Prepare and adapt instructional materials to meet diverse learning needs.
  4. Supervise students during recess and other outdoor activities to ensure safety.
  5. Participate in professional development and staff meetings as required.
  6. Maintain accurate records and documentation to support educational processes.
  7. Promote a positive and safe learning environment by managing student behavior effectively.
  8. Exhibit professionalism and confidentiality in all school-related matters.

Qualifications:
  1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
  2. Proficiency in both Spanish and English, with the ability to pass a bilingual assessment.
  3. Completion of an Associate's degree or equivalent college credits is preferred.
  4. Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
  5. Familiarity with basic computer applications for record-keeping and communication.

Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field.
  2. Experience in multicultural educational settings.
  3. Strong interpersonal skills to foster relationships with students, parents, and staff.

Physical Requirements:
The role requires the ability to stand, walk, and engage in physical activities for extended periods. Candidates must be able to lift and move items weighing up to 26 pounds and perform tasks that require mobility and dexterity.
