Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Haywood Regional Medical Center. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our respiratory care department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver High-Quality Patient Care: Provide respiratory care services to patients, including assessing patient condition, developing and implementing treatment plans, and monitoring patient response to therapy.
  • Collaborate with Healthcare Team: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and effective communication.
  • Conduct Diagnostic Testing: Perform lung function tests, blood gas analyses, and other diagnostic procedures to help diagnose and manage respiratory conditions.
  • Develop and Implement Treatment Plans: Create and implement individualized treatment plans for patients, taking into account their unique needs and medical histories.
  • Monitor and Record Patient Progress: Continuously monitor patient condition and record progress, making adjustments to treatment plans as needed.
  • Stay Up-to-Date with Industry Developments: Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with the latest respiratory care techniques, technologies, and best practices.
Requirements
  • Education: Graduate of a school of Respiratory Therapy.
  • Certifications: AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire, AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 30 days of hire, AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 6 months of employment, and AHA Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within 6 months of employment.
  • Licenses: Registered Respiratory Therapist required, credentialed with the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) required.
