About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Haywood Regional Medical Center. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Measure lung capacity and analyze blood samples using a blood gas analyzer.
  • Deliver and assess response to ordered therapy per plan of care.
  • Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
  • Evaluate respiratory care policies and procedures based on patient outcomes, current research, and best practices.
  • Respond to codes and calls for emergent assistance.
  • Educate patients and families about their illness and provide information about community support groups and other resources.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a school of Respiratory Therapy.
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.
  • AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 30 days of hire.
  • AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 6 months of employment.
  • AHA Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within 6 months of employment.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential with the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC).
