Job Summary

The Wastewater Services Business Development Professional will be responsible for providing subject matter expertise on biosolids to WM's Industrial Sales and Public Sector Sales managers. This will involve managing the development and execution of business plans, building key customer relationships, and driving revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify local market dynamics and develop strategies to offset competitive campaigns, pricing deterioration, and changes to regulatory drivers.
  • Develop direct knowledge of the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) customer segment and market dynamics that affect customer decisions.
  • Build productive relationships with key WWTP staff.
  • Manage the research and analysis of business opportunities and develop projects for new marketing initiatives.
  • Communicate competitive and market information to business development to assist in business unit planning and strategies.
  • Maintain firm adherence to the management and control of confidential information.
  • Provide monthly sales reports and expenses on a timely basis.
  • Attend sales meetings and training classes as deemed appropriate.
  • Perform special projects and other tasks as assigned by the Organics Director of Biosolids Business Development.
  • Track and document WWTP market information, including volume, pricing, current contract terms, and bid and RFP activity and results.
  • Collaborate with WM's Area Sales teams to develop professional and direct responses to municipal bid and RFP opportunities.
  • Work with WM legal to negotiate commercial services agreements with biosolids customers.

Requirements

  • Must live and work in the US.
  • Bachelor's Degree (accredited) or High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and four years of relevant experience required.
  • 5 years of work experience in a science or technical background (in addition to education requirement) required.
  • Preferred experience in the Waste Water Services Industry, Organics Waste Processing, and Industrial Waste.
  • Commitment to Environmental Compliance and Safety.
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm and passion for the role.
  • Demonstrated ability to be self-directed, and to work as part of a team.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft suite.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Positive disposition and attitude.
  • Integrity and sound ethical reasoning.
  • Solid analytical and reasoning skills.
  • Ability to work with varying personalities and skill-sets.
  • Entrepreneurial team player, willing and able to dedicate the time necessary meet company objectives and contribute in multiple ways in a start-up like environment.
  • Willingness to travel extensively in North America.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Compensation

The expected base pay range for this position across the U.S. is $102,700 - $153,525. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific salary offered to a successful candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for bonus.
