Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Executive Director to lead our organization in a manner that supports and guides our mission.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with the Board of Directors to fulfill the organization's mission

  • Communicate effectively with the Board and provide timely and accurate information necessary for the Board to function properly and make informed decisions
  • Work with the Board of Directors and staff to ensure that the mission is fulfilled through programs, strategic planning, and community outreach
  • Implement programs that carry out the organization's mission
  • Work with the Board to implement the strategic plan and revise the plan as necessary to ensure that the organization is equipped to fulfill its mission into the future
  • Develop resources sufficiently to ensure the financial health of the organization
  • Responsible for the fiscal integrity of the organization, including the submission of a proposed annual budget and monthly financial statements to the Board
  • Responsible for cash management, especially the balances of restricted funds
  • Responsible for payroll
  • Responsible for fiscal management within the approved budget; ensures maximum resource utilization; and maintenance of the organization in a positive financial position
  • Responsible for maintaining and complying with IRS regulations and the requirements of funding agencies
  • Responsible for fundraising and developing other resources necessary to support the organization's mission
  • Responsible for the enhancement of the organization's image by being active and visible in the community and by working closely with other professional, civic, and private organizations
  • Coordinate annual fundraising and community outreach events
  • Responsible for grant compliance
  • Responsible for working with the Board to secure new revenue streams
  • Ensure the efficient operations of the organization
  • Effective administration of the organization's operations
  • Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of facilities, including the building, grounds, and vehicles
  • Responsible for the hiring, supervision, training, and retention of staff
  • Ensures compliance with state and federal laws and regulations
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory bodies for programming and the organization's facility
  • Maintaining compliance as an IMHC agency regarding their program eligibility requirements and reporting requirements
  • Manage Brightwheel, enrollment, and be a liaison with parents
  • Manage incident reports, ensuring copies are made and issued to parents/guardians
  • Process CCDF cards for compliance and payment
Requirements
  • At least a bachelor's degree; or five or more years senior nonprofit management experience or equivalent combination of volunteerism, education, and job skills
  • High degree of integrity and strong leadership skills
  • Transparent, communicative, and coachable
  • Budget management skills, including budget preparation, analysis, decision-making, and reporting
  • Strong organizational abilities including planning, delegating, program development, and task facilitation
  • Ability to convey the vision of the organization's strategic future to staff, volunteers, and donors
  • Knowledge of fundraising strategies and donor relations unique to the nonprofit sector
  • Skills to collaborate with and motivate board members and other volunteers
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to oversee and collaborate with staff
  • Strong public speaking ability
  • Must have a valid Indiana driver's license

  • Experience in a leadership role in a non-profit organization
