Key Responsibilities:- Assist RNs in providing critical care and continuous observation for patients with diverse medical and surgical diagnoses.
- Check vital signs, weigh, and measure patients, obtain specimens, and record findings on patient charts.
- Instruct patients on specimen collection and perform basic screening tests.
- Prepare specimens for laboratory testing and perform vision and hearing tests.
- Administer emergency first aid and perform basic life support procedures.
- Assist medical providers during examinations and prepare examination rooms.
- Maintain patient charts, complete forms, and report observations to clinical staff.
- Provide information to patients and families regarding healthcare services and healthy living.
- Maintain inventory of equipment and supplies and work effectively as a team member.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Successful completion of a NYS Department of Health prescribed training program for Phlebotomy.
- Completion of a healthcare setting-based training program in electrocardiographs and basic life support procedures.
- Valid and current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association.
