This role involves working closely with students who require instructional and behavioral assistance under the guidance of the special education department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement Individualized Education Program (IEP) objectives, focusing on academic skills such as math and reading, as well as behavioral management, either individually or as part of a classroom setting.
  • Assist in executing teacher-led educational activities, including lesson plans, worksheets, and small group interactions.
  • Support students during their inclusion in general education classes.
  • Relay important information to teachers regarding student progress and needs.
  • Supervise students during recess, lunch, and community activities.
  • Maintain confidentiality concerning all student-related matters, ensuring that communication with parents is handled by certified personnel unless directed otherwise.
  • Support prescribed programs developed by related service professionals, including Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Speech-Language Pathologists.
  • Assist students in developing self-care skills, including personal hygiene and dressing routines.
  • Implement behavior management strategies as directed by teachers or other school professionals.
  • Assist teachers with administrative tasks, such as preparing materials, maintaining an organized classroom, and grading assignments.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with supervisors, colleagues, and clients.
  • Preferred proficiency in computer usage.
  • Successful completion of background checks and onboarding processes.
  • Must comply with all federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Fluency in English, both verbal and written.
  • Current certification as required by state or client regulations.
