About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Renewable Energy Procurement Manager to join our AWS Energy team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for originating, structuring, and negotiating energy contracts across AWS regions to create innovative supply structures and scale our renewable energy portfolio.

You will work closely with our Amazon Infrastructure team to support new data center region planning and analyze trends and regulations in the energy space to proactively identify opportunities that benefit Amazon.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the development and execution of a comprehensive renewable energy and utilities strategy for AWS data centers
  • Lead energy contracts that create new clean energy capacity on the grid
  • Work collaboratively with Amazon Infrastructure team to support new data center region planning
  • Analyze trends and regulations in the energy space to proactively identify opportunities that benefit Amazon
About the Team

The AWS Energy Procurement Team is responsible for delivering energy deals that reduce our Scope 2 and Scope 3 carbon emissions, working backwards from Amazon's Climate Pledge.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Engineering, or Business
  • 5+ years of experience working in the renewable energy/utility/energy industry
  • 3+ years of power transaction or contracting experience in US West (CAISO, WECC) energy markets

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Master's Degree in Business Administration or related field
  • 8+ years of experience in energy markets, energy trading, power contract negotiations, energy regulations, renewable development, or energy generation technologies
