Job Summary

EDF Renewables is seeking a highly skilled Renewable Energy Technician 3 to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing unsupervised field maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on renewable energy generators.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine testing and troubleshooting of electrical systems and perform live electrical work in accordance with industry standards and company safety practices.
  • Inspect and perform preventative maintenance on high-voltage systems, including substation collection and distribution systems, and conduct NERC inspections and required maintenance.
  • Recommission renewable energy assets, including PV and energy storage systems, and perform asset and project performance evaluations.
  • Work with engineering teams and subject matter experts to support a continuous improvement environment, including upgrades, retrofits, and revisions to PV and BESS systems.
  • Train and oversee junior technicians and conduct site safety assessments, team engagement visits, and equipment inspections.
  • Accurately complete daily maintenance logs, warranty and inventory management documentation, service orders, timecards, and other required administrative work.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of renewable energy experience, including wind, solar, and/or battery energy storage systems.
  • Valid current driver's license and ability to operate company vehicles.
  • Ability to understand, read, write, and speak clearly in English.
  • Successful completion of the Senior Renewable Energy Technician Qualification Standard.
  • Working knowledge of the National Electric Code and industry-related OSHA regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Proficiency in using advanced diagnostic tools, understanding of system software, and familiarity with the latest industry standards.
Working Conditions

This position requires working on platforms or skids, wearing personal protective equipment, and the repetitive use of legs, arms, hands, and fingers. The employee will work eight hours a day, forty hours a week, and overtime and night shifts as required.
