About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Renewable Energy Procurement Manager to join our AWS Energy team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for originating, structuring, and negotiating energy contracts across AWS regions to create innovative supply structures and scale our renewable energy portfolio.

You will work closely with our Amazon Infrastructure team to support new data center region planning and collaborate with industry stakeholders, such as utilities, regional power planning agencies, renewable project developers, project investors, and renewable OEMs.

The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical skill set, financial acumen, and a proven ability to evaluate new energy markets, utility tariffs, policies, power contracts, and renewable development opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the development and execution of a comprehensive renewable energy and utilities strategy for AWS data centers
  • Lead energy contracts that create new clean energy capacity on the grid
  • Analyze trends and regulations in the energy space to proactively identify opportunities that benefit Amazon
  • Work collaboratively with Amazon Infrastructure team to support new data center region planning
About the Team

The AWS Energy Procurement Team is responsible for delivering energy deals that reduce our Scope 2 and Scope 3 carbon emissions, working backwards from Amazon's Climate Pledge.
