Position Overview

The Business Systems team is pivotal in enhancing operational efficiency and speed throughout the organization by implementing process improvements, automation, and system integrations. This team collaborates with various internal departments, including Finance, Human Resources, Recruiting, and Sales, to refine essential systems and functions, adapting to our changing business needs.

As a Systems Integration Engineer II, your role will involve partnering with diverse teams across Datadog to optimize their workflows through system integrations and automation solutions. This position uniquely blends project management and stakeholder engagement with hands-on technical work. You will utilize middleware and low/no-code platforms while also collaborating with software engineers to create tailored integrations and solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of current business systems and their application within Datadog. Leverage this insight to pinpoint technical deficiencies and opportunities for enhancement.
  • Design, develop, and sustain system integrations and automated processes.
  • Organize, prioritize, and implement system upgrades; conduct unit, integration, and acceptance testing to fulfill business objectives.
  • Develop and maintain internal documentation and procedural guidelines.
  • Work closely with the Security, Privacy & Compliance teams to ensure that business systems comply with Datadog's security, privacy, and compliance regulations (e.g., GDPR, SOX).
Qualifications:
  • Proficient in analyzing business needs, designing and configuring appropriate solutions, and effectively communicating technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and technical expertise.
  • Experience in making decisions regarding system procurement versus development.
  • Minimum of 2 years in a business systems administration role (e.g., NetSuite, Zendesk, Salesforce, or Workday) or a comparable position.
  • At least 2 years of experience leading small to medium-sized cross-functional projects from requirements gathering to implementation across Finance, HR, and Sales.
  • Prior experience with system integrations using middleware (e.g., Workato, Boomi, Mulesoft, Zapier).
  • Comfortable with coding (e.g., Python, SQL) and eager to learn and grow within enterprise-level systems (e.g., Greenhouse, NetSuite, Salesforce, Workday).
