POSITION SUMMARY:

The Cashier role is crucial for delivering exceptional customer service, managing the point of sale (POS) system, and performing related tasks. Responsibilities include suggestive selling, demonstrating comprehensive product knowledge, restocking merchandise, and maintaining cleanliness in the store environment.

This position also involves addressing the needs of customers and ensuring compliance with company policies and standards.

TYPICAL SCHEDULE AND WORK LOCATION:

The Cashier must be flexible to work various shifts to fulfill the staffing requirements of the store. Schedules may be adjusted to accommodate individual work restrictions. Employees may also be required to assist at nearby locations as needed.

Full-time employees are expected to work 35 hours per week, while part-time employees will work fewer than 35 hours per week.



MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalent (GED).

Proficiency in the English language, including spelling, grammar, and comprehension.

ADDITIONAL DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Previous experience in a retail environment using a point of sale system.

Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, email software, and internet browsers.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

This position does not include supervisory duties.

TRAVEL:

This role does not require overnight travel. However, occasional travel to nearby store locations may be necessary based on company needs.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (Essential Functions):

Deliver outstanding service to each customer by fostering a welcoming environment, which includes greeting and acknowledging every customer, maintaining high standards, and demonstrating solid product knowledge.Complete all Point of Sale (POS) transactions accurately, including processing returns, voiding transactions, and managing cash, checks, coupons, and credit/debit receipts according to company policies.Conduct timely safe drops, verify the authenticity of currency, and ensure proper acceptance of credit and debit cards while operating the POS system.Assist customers with gaming transactions, maintain cleanliness of gaming machines, and ensure self-serve coolers are stocked appropriately.Complete necessary reporting and paperwork at the end of shifts, including balancing cash drawers and preparing deposits.Restock merchandise on shelves and coolers, assist with receiving shipments, and maintain overall store cleanliness.Communicate maintenance issues and equipment problems to the Store Manager or Lead in a timely manner.Support technicians in troubleshooting equipment issues as needed.Maintain professional appearance by adhering to company uniform standards.Follow company policies and procedures diligently.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate effectively. This position requires both close and distant vision and involves light-to-moderate physical activity.

The role may involve lifting and moving items, such as restocking shelves and assisting customers.

Regular lifting of objects weighing up to 30 to 50 pounds is expected, while heavier lifting occurs on a limited basis.

This position may expose employees to potential air contaminants and moderate noise levels.


TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED:

This position utilizes standard office equipment such as computers, calculators, phones, and point-of-sale systems, as well as cleaning tools for maintaining store cleanliness.
