Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist customers with their purchases and provide a positive shopping experience
  • Maintain a clean and organized store environment, including the bakery department
  • Restock shelves and display cases with bakery products
  • Evaluate and verify bakery product quality to ensure it meets company standards
  • Perform department housekeeping tasks, including sweeping and mopping floors
  • Answer telephones and respond to customer inquiries
  • Take cake orders and provide excellent customer service
  • Promote and follow company initiatives, including safety guidelines and standards
  • Perform cashier functions and process transactions accurately
  • Sample product and provide feedback to management
  • Use public announcement systems to draw customers to the bakery department

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to pass a drug test
  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or combination of relevant education and experience
  • Ability to work within set time frames
  • Familiarity with bakery terms and processes
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and projects
  • Ability to work weekends on a regular basis, work any shift, and work overtime as needed
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Related retail experience
  • Customer service experience
  • Knowledge of Kroger policies, procedures, and organizational structure
  • Model Customer 1st behavior and deliver excellent customer service
  • Maintain awareness of sales and anticipate production needs
