POSITION SUMMARY:

The Cashier role is crucial for delivering exceptional customer service, managing the point of sale (POS) system, and utilizing various related equipment. Responsibilities include suggestive selling, demonstrating extensive product knowledge, restocking merchandise, and maintaining cleanliness in the store.

This position also involves ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and adhering to loss prevention policies and company standards.

TYPICAL SCHEDULE AND WORK LOCATION:

The Cashier is expected to work flexible shifts to fulfill the staffing requirements of the store. Adjustments to schedules may be made to accommodate individual work restrictions. Employees may also be assigned to work at nearby locations based on the store's needs.

Full-time employees are required to work a minimum of 35 hours per week, while part-time employees work fewer than 35 hours.



MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalent (GED).

Proficient understanding of the English language, including vocabulary, spelling, and grammar.

ADDITIONAL DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Previous experience in a retail environment using a point of sale system.

Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, email software, and internet browsers.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

This position does not involve supervisory duties.

TRAVEL:

This position does not require overnight travel. However, occasional travel to nearby stores may be necessary based on company needs.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (Essential Functions):

Deliver outstanding service to customers by creating a welcoming environment, greeting each customer, and maintaining high standards of service and product knowledge.Process all Point of Sale (POS) transactions accurately, including handling returns, voiding transactions, and managing cash, checks, coupons, and credit/debit receipts.Complete safe drops and verify the authenticity of currency and payment methods in accordance with established procedures.Assist customers with gaming tickets and operate cash kiosks, ensuring cleanliness and restocking of gaming machines.Complete necessary reporting and paperwork at the end of shifts, including balancing cash drawers and preparing deposits.Restock merchandise on shelves and coolers, assist with receiving inventory, and maintain general cleanliness and orderliness.Communicate any maintenance issues or equipment malfunctions to the Store Manager or Lead promptly.Assist technicians in troubleshooting equipment issues as needed.Maintain appropriate cash levels in ATMs and kiosks as requested.Wear the designated company uniform and maintain a professional appearance.Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
