POSITION OVERVIEW

The HVAC Sheet Metal Specialist plays a vital role within EMCOR Government Services. This position requires adherence to all safety protocols and collaboration with team members on a daily basis. The individual will operate under the supervision of a Field Superintendent or Project Manager, depending on the work site.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The following duties are essential to this role. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.

  • Design and layout sheet metal components including ducts and hangers.
  • Accurately measure and mark dimensions for on-site installation.
  • Drill holes for fasteners such as screws, bolts, or rivets.
  • Install sheet metal within a supportive framework.
  • Fabricate or modify parts in the field to meet specific site requirements.
  • Create sketches for duct fittings.
  • Handle and secure large sheet metal ducts and components.
  • Assemble joints of ductwork to form a complete heating, cooling, and ventilation system.
  • Lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Enforce safety regulations consistently.
  • Provide guidance to other team members when necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

A High School Diploma or GED is required, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.

  • Experience in HVAC sheet metal and installation.
  • A valid driver's license with an insurable driving record.
  • OSHA 10 Certification is preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Familiarity with the construction industry and related documentation.
  • Understanding of federal, state, and local regulations and guidelines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Capability to operate a forklift and/or scissor lift.
