Job SummaryThe Manager - Materials Science will be responsible for leading a team of materials scientists and engineers in the development and implementation of materials science research and development programs. The successful candidate will have a strong background in materials science and engineering, with experience in polymers and composites research and development.
Key Responsibilities- Lead a team of materials scientists and engineers in the development and implementation of materials science research and development programs.
- Develop and implement R&D strategies to advance the state-of-the-art in materials science and engineering.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to team members on materials science and engineering projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement materials science and engineering solutions.
- Develop and manage budgets and resources for materials science and engineering projects.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as relevant laws and regulations.
- PhD in Materials Science or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in materials science and engineering, with a focus on polymers and composites research and development.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with experience in leading cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to develop and manage budgets and resources for materials science and engineering projects.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively.
- 12+ years of experience in materials science and engineering, with a focus on polymers and composites research and development.
- Experience in program management, with a focus on materials science and engineering projects.
- Strong knowledge of materials science and engineering principles, with a focus on polymers and composites.
- Experience in grant writing and proposal development, with a focus on materials science and engineering projects.
The Aerospace Corporation offers a competitive compensation package, including a salary range of $134,200 - $201,300, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement savings, and paid time off.
