Job Summary:

Astera Labs is seeking a highly skilled Firmware Design Engineer to join our team. As a Firmware Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing firmware to enable CXL/PCIe technologies for future-looking products defined by Astera Labs CXL solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop firmware to enable CXL/PCIe technologies
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure firmware meets product requirements
  • Develop and maintain firmware documentation
  • Troubleshoot and debug firmware issues
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in CXL/PCIe technologies

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Science, or related field
  • 3-8 years of experience in C code development, firmware, or device drivers
  • Strong problem-solving and C programming skills
  • Ability to understand hardware specifications for different technologies and write code

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Good knowledge of PCIe endpoints at PHY/Link/Transaction levels
  • Ability to debug PCIe link issues during server boot
  • Pre-silicon validation or bring-up or commercialization of devices is a plus
  • CXL, I2C, SPI knowledge is a plus
  • Knowledge of server memory or I/O performance is a plus
