Instructional Support Role

Under the guidance of a certified teacher and/or school administrator, we seek an Instructional Support Specialist to supplement student education and assist with instructional, behavior management, and administrative duties. This role will support the physical, behavioral, and academic needs of students with special needs throughout the school day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide instructional reinforcement for individual students or small groups of students
  • Assist teachers with classroom management and general supervision of the class
  • Support administrative tasks such as setting up equipment and preparing materials
  • Supervise students in various settings, including the cafeteria, schoolyard, and during before and after school programs
  • Attend to students' physical, personal, academic, and emotional needs
  • Support students with special needs by following provisions specified in their IEPs/504 Plans
  • Perform other duties as directed by the classroom teacher and school administration

Requirements

  • Hold a valid NJ Substitute Certification or higher NJ Certification
  • Valid NJ criminal history letter
  • Negative tuberculosis test obtained within 6 months of initial employment
