Position: Purchasing Clerk
Pay Range: $20 - $25 per hour
Schedule/Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Job Overview: We are in search of a meticulous Purchasing Clerk to become a part of our dynamic team at PeopleShare. This role entails managing accounts payable discrepancies, assisting with inventory assessments, reviewing invoices, processing goods receipts, and maintaining data accuracy within SAP. The ideal candidate will possess robust Excel capabilities, proactive communication skills, and effective time management abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Timely resolution of accounts payable discrepancies.
  • Support occasional physical inventory assessments and update records accordingly.
  • Verify invoices from accounts payable for precision and confirm receipt of products/services.
  • Accurately process goods receipts and invoice entries in a timely manner.
  • Maintain data integrity in SAP and enhance transactional workflows.
  • Evaluate supplier performance and engage in audit controls.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Educational Background:
  • Associate's degree in a business-related discipline is preferred.
  • 2 to 3 years of experience in purchasing or relevant education is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly intermediate to advanced skills in Excel.
  • Experience in chemical and/or manufacturing sectors is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with SAP, especially in data entry and inventory management.
  • Proven ability to manage time efficiently and work independently.
  • Strong communication skills to notify purchasing and accounts payable of potential issues.
  • Detail-oriented with accurate data entry capabilities and a knack for identifying discrepancies.
  • History of following up with vendors regarding orders and recognizing delays.
  • Ability to foster and maintain effective working relationships with company personnel and vendors.
  • Comfortable in a plant/warehouse setting.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk.
  • Capability to lift up to 20 lbs.
  • Work environment: Office setting with some warehouse interaction.
