Position Overview

The role of the Resident Support Associate is designed to enhance the quality of life for residents while assisting the staff. The individual in this position will work towards obtaining C.N.A. Certification through the Accolade Healthcare C.N.A. Program within a designated timeframe and will continue to contribute to the organization as a Certified Nursing Assistant.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Certified Nursing Assistants (C.N.A.'s) without engaging in direct physical care of residents.
  • Respond to resident call lights promptly.
  • Conduct visual checks every 15 minutes using the AA checklist tool, ensuring that the assigned C.N.A. receives the completed documentation.
  • Assist residents who use wheelchairs in navigating to and from dining areas.
  • Provide support in dining settings, including passing beverages, taking meal orders, and serving food.
  • Facilitate meal service for residents choosing to dine in their rooms.
  • Maintain cleanliness in resident rooms by making beds and ensuring tidiness.
  • Deliver ice water and snacks to residents who do not have modified diets.
  • Ensure that personal belongings are organized and properly labeled.
  • Keep rooms and communal areas well-stocked with necessary supplies.
  • Adhere to facility protocols to guarantee resident safety, including participation in training and orientation sessions.
  • Perform cleaning of wheelchairs as required.
  • Answer phone calls with appropriate etiquette.
  • Engage in resident interactions and provide companionship as needed.
  • Carry out additional tasks as directed by the supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Ability to meet the physical demands associated with the responsibilities of this role.
  • Must have been employed with Accolade Healthcare for a minimum period prior to entering the Auxiliary Assistant program.
  • Completion of the Accolade CNA Program and passing the certification test within the specified timeframe is required.

Supervision

This position is overseen by the Auxiliary Aide Supervisor and operates under the guidance of the C.N.A. Program Director.
