Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team at Talent Software Services. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the entire purchasing process for moderate to high-value and high-risk materials and/or services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage solicitation documents, coordinate proposal evaluations, and recommend contract awards.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with internal teams and suppliers to optimize Total Cost of Ownership.
  • Meet with internal clients to understand their needs and strengthen client relationships.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of purchasing strategies that meet company requirements.
  • Maintain emphasis on reliable and efficient suppliers, lowest overall cost, optimum quality and availability, and significant contribution to Supplier Diversity goals.
  • Lead special projects to identify and implement cost-saving programs and work on cross-functional teams to develop strategies to add value through Supply Management.
  • Train clients in contract management and administration principles and ensure client compliance with Procurement, Ethical Behavior, and Accounting policies.
  • Mentor lower-level Contracting Agents and support staff.
  • Maintain records to demonstrate proper protocol was followed in the sourcing and contracting processes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain, Business, English, Computer Science, Economics, or related field.
  • 8 years of supply management experience, with a Master's Degree in Business Administration or other advanced academic degrees or training highly desirable.
  • Valid California driver's license required.
  • Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) designation or similar professional certification in Supply Management desirable.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Knowledge and application of contracting and supply management principles.
  • Working knowledge of contract management and/or accounting systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel applications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and suppliers.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
