As a Manufacturing Engineer - Process Planning, you'll play a crucial role in developing and implementing manufacturing processes that meet production requirements while ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety standards are met. This role involves analyzing manufacturing processes, identifying areas of improvement, and designing new processes to optimize production output. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address process-related issues, ensuring seamless execution and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement manufacturing processes that meet production requirements, ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety standards are met.
  • Analyze manufacturing processes, identifying areas of improvement and designing new processes to optimize production output.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address process-related issues, ensuring seamless execution and continuous improvement.
  • Create and maintain accurate Bill of Material (BOM) requirements for DFA s and sub-assemblies.
  • Develop optimized machining sequences to produce parts as per design intent.
  • Create 3D models and 2D drawings/blue prints for the process planned and release in product life cycle management platform (PLM).
  • Create tooling and fixture requirements specification for each and every machining and inspection operations.
  • Update planning as required for all customer Design/Engineering changes or for all method improvement/correction.
  • Create re-work planning for parts or tools as required.
  • Review and provide feedback on engineering change requests.
  • Collaborate with planning, tooling, and supplier engineers to ensure that all data, information, drawings, and other necessary information are available to build assembly.
  • Initiate/coordinate writing of detailed Statements of Work (SOW) accurately defining the activities to be performed by suppliers.
  • Incorporate appropriate tolerances and specifications into all process planning documents as described in the Design/Engineering drawings.
  • Write detailed manufacturing work instructions (2D/3D) and to accomplish job in a safe and satisfactory manner.
  • Ensure compliance with customer quality standard by providing required control and documentation steps and sign-offs.
  • Coordinate the other engineers to make corrections or improvements to planning, tooling, programs, or processes.
  • Participate in risk assessment and PFMEA taking account of the customer requirements until SOP.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field.
  • 5-10 years of experience in a process planning or manufacturing engineering role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software and process simulation tools.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to manufacturing processes and environmental regulations.

Work Experience

  • Hands-on experience in Aerospace Part production or/and assembly planning.
  • Sound knowledge in interpreting the GD&T (standards ASME Y 14.5, JES 161).
  • Working knowledge on concessions, containment procedures, and traceability techniques.
  • Awareness of aerospace quality requirements (AS9100, various ISO).
