Position Summary:

The HVAC Field Service Technician will operate primarily from Chicago, delivering exceptional service to our clients through on-site visits, phone consultations, and remote support. This role involves chiller startup and commissioning, troubleshooting technical issues, warranty services, and routine maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through effective communication with clients and internal teams.
  • Provide expert technical support for Smardt chillers, both indoor and outdoor models.
  • Perform field service and troubleshooting for chiller systems, which may involve local travel as necessary.
  • Guide customers on the operation and upkeep of their HVAC equipment.
  • Oversee installations, including the delivery and removal of equipment, adhering to company standards.
  • Diagnose operational issues and recommend solutions to clients.
  • Be available for on-call emergency service approximately one week every two months.
  • Keep clients informed about service performed and any outstanding issues.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in safe, working condition.
  • Advise customers on repair or replacement options for existing systems.
  • Assist in monitoring and maintaining chiller systems.
  • Ensure timely repairs and maintenance of testing equipment.
  • Utilize technical support from headquarters when necessary.
  • Encourage the sale of additional services or maintenance agreements.
  • Support head office with related tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Outstanding customer service and communication skills.
  • At least four years of field experience in HVAC, specifically with chillers.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
