Job Summary

As a Senior Heavy Assembler at SPX, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and production of metal products. Your expertise will be essential in assembling metal products partially or completely, adhering to controlled documents and production schedules.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement layout plans and sequences of operations using controlled documents and production schedules.
  • Adjust and distribute schedules as needed to ensure efficient production.
  • Verify conformance of work pieces to controlled documents and troubleshoot issues related to assembly.
  • Utilize computer literacy to input data into company-specific software, including pass/fail, amp, rpm, and voltage readings.
  • Demonstrate experience with loading, moving, and manipulating items with a forklift.
  • Wire motors, pumps, control panels, heaters, and electrical components.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • 3-5 years of manufacturing/assembly experience, including handling sheet metal, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
