Job Title: Outside Parts Sales Representative

At Rihm Kenworth, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Outside Parts Sales Representative to join our team. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for increasing parts sales with existing accounts and prospecting for new accounts in assigned territory.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Regularly visit assigned customers and proactively prospect for new customers.
  • Communicate parts orders and delivery instructions to counter people.
  • Keep abreast of new products, competition, and pricing trends.
  • Coordinate relationships with New and Used Truck prospects and Service leadership.
  • Promote the sales of parts and accessories and be an advisor to wholesale or retail customers.
  • In conjunction with Credit Manager, establish method of payment on wholesale parts and may obtain credit approvals.
  • Follow up on and confirm customer requirements and orders to ensure satisfaction.
  • Complete necessary paperwork for processing warranty claims.
  • Review special orders and pricing with Parts Sales Manager for approvals.
  • Deliver orders and pick up returns from customers.
  • Effectively and efficiently manage required reports and paperwork (budgets, travel, call reports, expense reports, etc.).
  • Maintain customer records and logs.
Requirements:
  • High-school diploma or GED
  • Heavy truck and commercial motor vehicle industry experience
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to follow up with external customers and internal departments
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions and reach agreed upon outcomes
  • Ability to use creativity to solve problems and meet customer needs within company guidelines
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1+ years of inside or outside sales experience with a proven ability to reach, maintain and exceed sales goals/quotas
  • General business courses or sales training
