Position: Emergency Transport Driver

Job Overview:

The Emergency Transport Driver is responsible for providing both scheduled and unscheduled medical transportation services, ensuring that passengers are delivered safely to their designated locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to various locations, including hospitals and nursing facilities, to deliver essential medical transportation services.
  • Ensure safe movement of passengers and medical teams from wheelchairs or stretchers at homes, hospitals, and other facilities.
  • Monitor passenger safety throughout the journey, adhering to all local, regional, and state regulations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Possess a high level of personal integrity and accountability.
  • Hold a valid certification or license from relevant state agencies.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certifications from recognized organizations.
  • Must achieve Emergency Medical Technician certification within one year of employment.
  • Maintain a clean driving record as per company standards.
  • Successfully complete a driver safety training course.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills with passengers and healthcare professionals.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to pass a DOT physical examination.
  • Capability to lift and maneuver up to 150 pounds.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as bending, stooping, and walking long distances.

Reporting Structure:

Reports to the Field Supervisor or Operations Manager for all operational matters.

Additional Duties:

Maintain cleanliness and readiness of the vehicle and equipment, ensuring compliance with company policies. Engage in daily inspections and uphold the security of all company property.

Demonstrate knowledge of local geography to facilitate efficient transportation services.

Ensure that all documentation related to transport and patient care is completed accurately.

Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.

Set a professional example for peers, prioritizing passenger care and safety above all.
